What the kids are thankful for

What we are thankful for

The kids told me everyday, until Thanksgiving what they were thankful for. Owen wrote his down on paper while Emma verbally told me. I think that its good for the kids to think about what they have and to tell us what they are grateful for. Of course Thanksgiving is always a good time to do this but I do try to talk about this throughout the entire year.

Some of Emma’s List: God, I love daddy, I am thankful for mommy, My barbies, Roxy and Cota, mama and papa, JerJer, Rawraw, I am thankful for everybody

Trip to Santa Barbara

A Day in Santa Barbara

The Monday of the week of Thanksgiving my mom and I took the kids to Santa Barbara for the day. Oh, what a busy day it was. We started by going to the Ty Warner Sea Center on the Pier.  The kids were able to touch sea stars, sand shark and sea slugs. We were able to lower a bucket to the bottom of the ocean, grab some dirt and bring it back up to see what we found. We saw a Pismo clam and a sand flea, both we were able to examine under the microscope – very cool. Next we had lunch at Moby Dickson on the pier, it was ok, wouldn’t recommend it. Then we caught a ride on the Land Shark, this is a 90 min tour of Santa Barbara and the second part of it is in the water. Very good tour and would recommend it especially for visitors. Then we headed over to the Park, I think its Alameda Park, it has a huge wooden paly structure that the kids love to play hide and seek at. Next stop was Ice Cream and then last stop was in Carpentaria where we hiked about a half-mile to a seal sanctuary. It was a great day but I was exhausted!!!

We saw these nappers on the Land Shark

Trike A Thon

Emma’s Trike A Thon

Emma was so excited to take her purple bike to school and ride her bike for everyone. Daddy, mama, Jerjer and mommy and Owen were all going to be there. When we got to school that day it started to rain and they had to cancel it. She was devastated. I actually had to take her home that day. The next week it was sunny and we were able to have the Trike A Thon. For some reason, Emma wasn’t into it; she was crying and very upset. I ended up running next to her for the 6 or so laps that she completed. But she participated!!
