Faulkner Farms Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday we took the kids to Faulkner Farms (Pumpkin Patch) in Santa Paula. We love this pumpkin patch and have been going there for years. There were a few disappointments this year, the cost went up, $5.00 a person just to get in, it’s suppose to all goes back to the community so we try not to complain too much.  Last year some teenagers went into the corn maze and destroyed all of the corn stalks so there wasn’t much of a maze, so this year they used chicken wire to mark the path so this wouldn’t happen again but it wasn’t the same, not really a maze more of a path to walk through. They didn't seem to have as many pumpkins as past years but they had more agriculture, plants, animals and such so that was fine.
One of our favorite things to watch there is the pumpkin chunking, where they use a catapult to launch pumpkins into an empty field. This year we almost saw someone win! If it hits the cinder block wall they win a t-shirt or something and it sure came close this year. I always tell the kids that they can get the biggest pumpkin they want as long as they can carry it, they sure try to carry big ones! We love the kettle corn there too, the perfect amount of salt and sugar, mmmmmm. We had a great time on the hay maze, the hay tower, even the corn maze!
